For Immediate Release: Liberty View at Fitzsimons, Aurora Housing Authority’s highly anticipated residences for Veterans, rang in 2023 by welcoming its new residents to their brand new apartment homes.
A decade in the making, the $20 million dollar development sits on 2.3-acres on the Fitzsimons campus, next door to the Veterans Community Living Center. It serves Veterans, 62 years old and older that earn between 30% and 60% of the area median income. Conveniently located within the urban hospital district of North Aurora, residents have access to the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, as well as transit, eateries, and parks.
“We are excited to see this project completed and see the first very deserving residents move in,” said Craig A. Maraschky, Executive Director at Aurora Housing Authority. “It’s great to see a former Army facility now serving Veterans.”
The community of 49 one-bedroom, one-bath, and 10 two-bedroom, one-bath apartments, is staffed with a manager, maintenance technician, and service coordinator who will support the residents and the overall community through social events and activities.
Amenities include elevators, a sun-filled community room and kitchen, outdoor tables and chairs, parcel lockers, laundry rooms on every floor, resident gardens, EV-ready parking spaces, exercise room, library, and computer lab. In-unit amenities include PTAC units for heating and cooling, cable ready wiring, stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, and carpet in each bedroom.
